Profile

Adriaan Zondag joined the Clingendael Institute in February 2014, and works as a Training and Research Fellow at Clingendael Academy. He designs & coordinates training programs for Dutch and foreign professionals. These include the training programme for Dutch junior diplomats, also known as ‘het Klasje’ (The Class) and training programs for diplomats from Europa, Asia and Africa. He is furthermore responsible for the training programme supporting the implementation of the United Nations Convention Against Torture (UNCAT) by the government of Vietnam. Next to his role as course coordinator, he teaches courses in international law, diplomatic immunities and provides skills training in debating, presentation skills and effective communication. 

Adriaan holds an MA in International Relations from the Utrecht University, with a specialization in international security issues and transatlantic relations. In Utrecht he also obtained a BA in English Language and Culture with a minor in History, and multiple courses from the LL.B. and LL.M. Public International Law study programs.
