Former Chairperson, Anti-Corruption Commission

Kinley Yangzom is the Former Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). She was appointed to this Constitutional post on 31st July 2015 for a fixed term of five years. In fulfilling its Constitutional mandate to prevent and fight corruption in the country, the ACC focuses on investigating corrupt acts to create deterrence and building systems of integrity for a sustainable corruption free Bhutan. Prevention strategies include advocacy and mainstreaming anti-corruption measures.

Prior to the appointment in the ACC, Kinley Yangzom served as a Commissioner in the Royal Civil Service Commission (RCSC) from 31st January 2009 to 3rd April 2014.

On appointment as Commissioner in the RCSC, she resigned from the civil service, after serving 21 years as an HR professional. She began her career in the Ministry of Education and served in the Ministry from 1988 – March 2002 before her transfer to the RCSC as Head, HR Management Division from April 2002 – January 2009.

Kinley Yangzom initially studied in Mongar and then in Loreto Convent, Darjeeling in India. She did B.A. (English) Honours from Indraprastha College in Delhi under Delhi University and Masters in Education from the University of New Brunswick, Canada. She feels fortunate to have received the above formal education abroad under RGoB scholarships and remains most grateful for she truly believes that she would not be who and what she is today if not for the opportunities!
